Yes, you can purchase an optional 8 oz / 227 g crossing pole which allows the Moment DW to be free standing and also gives support for strong winds and snow. DOES THIS TARPTENT ACCOMMODATE TALL PEOPLE? (over 6 ft 3 in / 190.5 cm) For sleeping, yes. It's almost impossible to run into end walls when laying down. Sit-up room is best for people closer to 6 ft/ 183 cm.  WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CARBON AND ALUMINUM ARCH POLE? The carbon pole is lighter, thinner, and more flexible than the aluminum pole.  Carbon poles are more susceptible to damage due to abrasion and crushing (via rocks, feet, etc) and therefore do require extra care. If you’re reasonably careful with gear, the carbon pole will last the life of the tent. For higher winds, the aluminum pole is stiffer and offers better performance. CAN I USE THIS FOR WINTER? The structure will withstand light to moderate snow loading and high winds especially with the optional crossing pole. The optional solid interior is recommended for cold winds or blowing snow.
