HOGBACK

Designed by and for the hiking family, the Hogback sleeps 4 and weighs in at about 1 pound (16oz) per person, resulting in one of the lightest, most compact family tents on the market. Double-walled and strut-supported corners give the Hogback the structured space needed to ensure your family sleeps well protected.
*Freestanding means that the structure stands on its own without the need for stakes. That means at least 3 points of contact and a structure that doesn’t collapse under it’s own weight. The definition is very loose here in the U.S. — a tent can still need to be staked for wind/rain, especially to deploy the fly vestibules — whereas in Europe the definition is tighter and generally means full fabric tensioning without stakes. The classic “dome tent” (with “X” poles from corner to corner) is freestanding on both continents whereas a modified dome with extended, non-pole-supported, vestibules would not be classified as freestanding in Europe. An additional pole over the top of a dome tent would tension the vestibules and make it free-standing in Europe. For our purposes, we will use the the looser U.S. definition.
